jye

jye is a storyteller, freelance journalist, clown artist, painter and designer based in Berlin. Trained at The Dream Theatre of Pure Form clown school under Dr. Cal Clements, who gave special attention the sacred clown, they performed “The Sacred Pudding Society” with a troupe of imaginative and caring performers. jye created the Berlin Clown Gazzette and play one of its lead reporters, B. C. E. Neiderlage (along with others in the cast of the paper). The Gazzette grew out of many seeds, with one being: Berlin’s clown community is full of talented, weird, generous people who deserve better infrastructure (and a fancy calendar). The goal is building a supportive network where performers, teachers, and students can connect, share resources, and take better care of each other. Life can be an artistic clown performance itself, and to do that best requires a good community. Not simply performances where it looks good from the outside. But more support so that all of us can enjoy inhabiting this special and wondrous place. jye also co-produces the Clown Menagerie with Joanna Bassi, which brings to bear all the random little skills they have aquired over years of being interested in a lot of things. Outside of clown, jye writes as a freelance journalist exploring solutions for environmental and social problems.
